I work in two types of cameras, film and digital. I like to visit nature, mostly areas which have not easy access to the public. In the studio I experiment with simple subjects and people to find an expression, a color mood or an illusion.
My visual technique is simple, I shoot straight photography- all in camera. My images are of subjects in their natural habitat, a mood that bring the viewer to a known place, such as children playing, a train passing, a tree in water, or a colorful red glass.
Process
My wildlife and street photography work is primarily done in color with digital cameras. I aimed for symmetry in motion utilizing extreme optics (macro and wide-angle lenses). I shoot with black-and-white panchromatic, infrared, and color photographic silver materials. The film is hand-processed in the darkroom (black-and-white and infrared) with photographic chemicals to control the contrast and grain. Color film is send out for custom development.
I print the images from the negatives to deluxe photo papers (polycontrast or fiber base), to match the mood of the image. All color work is send out for custom printing.
